What you need to know about ultrasounds at the cpc
There are a few things to keep in mind if you would like a free ultrasound at the Care Pregnancy Center.
At the CPC we provide a limited obstetrical ultrasound. This means we will not look for things like gender and will not diagnose any medical conditions.
Information we provide during your ultrasound appointment:
If you have already received prenatal care for your pregnancy, we will not be able to perform a limited ultrasound. The ultrasounds given at the CPC are ideal for first trimester clients to indicate if the pregnancy is progressing as expected, not for potential clients wishing to receive an additional ultrasound outside of their regular doctor visits.

what is the ultrasound policy?Although you may have positive at-home pregnancy tests, it is our policy to first administer a pregnancy test at our clinic before an ultrasound can be provided. You must have a positive result from our test. Once we have a positive result, our clinic director will assess to see if an ultrasound can be provided.
Please be aware that because we do not provide emergency services, we cannot provide an ultrasound if you are experiencing symptoms such as bleeding, spotting, or severe cramping. These could be symptoms of a spontaneous abortion, or miscarriage, and you may require further medical attention. |
will my ultrasound be the same day as my pregnancy test?We cannot guarantee your ultrasound appointment will be the same day as your pregnancy test, as there are a number of factors that go into planning your ultrasound appointment. If your ultrasound cannot be completed on the same day as your pregnancy test, a nurse will call you within a few days to schedule your appointment based on your last menstrual cycle.

undecided about your pregnancy? If you are considering abortion, an ultrasound will be vital in making your pregnancy decision.

what do I wear to my ultrasound appointment?A loose-fitting, two-piece outfit is best to wear to your appointment. This will allow for the lower abdominal area to easily be exposed during your ultrasound.
If you are in the early stages of pregnancy, the nurse may decide to perform a transvaginal ultrasound. This is a method of ultrasound that allows for a closer look at the fetus in order to measure heartbeat, take measurements, etc. |
*Please also come to your appointment with a full bladder, as this allows for a better scan of the uterus.

We do not provide or refer for abortion services.
